Meet The Coordinator

Professional photo of Andrine Shufran.Dr. Andrine Shufran has been employed with the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology since 2003. Shufran earned a B.S. in Horticulture and Entomology from Texas A&M University, an M.S. in Agricultural Biology from New Mexico State University where she was recognized with the Dean’s Award for Excellence (2000) and Distinguished Departmental Alumnus (2013), and a Ph.D. in Entomology from OSU in 2008. She is currently Coordinator of the OSU Insect Adventure and an Associate Extension Specialist. Her job at the Insect Adventure involves husbandry of numerous arthropod species, supervising student entomologists, maintaining USDA quarantine regulations, overseeing improvements to the facility, and providing more than 500 educational programs on arthropods, annually, to children of all ages throughout the state. She enjoys skeet shooting with her husband, playing piano, reading, movies, and gardening, but most of all, she LOVES her job because she gets to be a kid who never grows up!

Donate to Insect Adventure

The OSU Insect Adventure program is unique in Oklahoma; a rare gem in hands-on informal science education.  We bring a special brand of exciting education directly into the hands of people of all ages, and we are just waiting for the opportunity to grow and reach more people.

We rely on the generous support of our patrons and the value they place on our program. When you contribute to the OSU Insect Adventure, you are supporting an outstanding arm of OSU that serves more than 300,000 Oklahomans each year, an exceptional facility that inspires individuals, teachers, families, and organizations to get involved in science exploration, and the only program of its kind available in education across the state.
